See Pricing for current prices and exact limits. Every limit (assistants, agents, runs/day, workspaces, members) is aggregated across every workspace your billing account owns, not per workspace.
Two ways, and once they land you can't tell them apart on your balance — only in your transaction history:
Platform-key usage is billed per model: the provider's own raw cost, times (1 + markup), with a small minimum fee even for a $0-cost model. Prices are set per model by the platform and can change over time — a past run's billed amount always reflects the price that was active when it ran, not whatever the price is today.
BYOK usage is never billed against your credit balance — you're billed by the provider directly, on your own key.
You can set a spending limit on your billing account (Account → Billing) as a hard ceiling, independent of your plan's included credits — useful if you've topped up a large balance but want a leash on how fast it can be spent.
If your balance and spending limit don't allow a run, platform-key usage is rejected before any tokens are spent — you'll see an "upgrade your plan" or "add funds" prompt rather than a silent failure partway through. BYOK usage is unaffected, since it isn't drawn from your balance at all.
Once you're on a paid plan, switching plans or canceling goes through the Manage subscription button (a hosted Stripe portal), not a fresh checkout — this avoids ever creating two overlapping subscriptions. The Checkout flow is only used for your very first paid plan.
