Embed widget

A widget puts one of your assistants on your own website as a chat box, for anonymous visitors — no login required on their end.

1. Publish the assistant

A widget only works for an assistant that's been explicitly published as Public (the Publish button on the assistant's page) — an unpublished or private assistant has no embeddable widget, even if you create one for it.

2. Create a widget

From the assistant's Channels tab, create a widget and give it a name. Each widget is a separate placement: if you want the same assistant on two different sites (or with a different look on each), create one widget per placement rather than reusing a single one everywhere.

3. Add the snippet to your site

You get a single script tag:

<script src="https://your-domain/widget.v1.js" data-widget-id="…" async></script>

Paste it wherever you'd add any third-party widget — there's no backend of your own to build.

Restricting where it can be embedded

By default, a widget's script tag will render on any site that includes it. Set allowed origins on the widget to a specific list of domains if you only want it to work on sites you control; leaving it empty keeps it unrestricted.

Visitors are anonymous

Conversations through a widget have no logged-in user behind them. That's also what makes lead capture available automatically for widget conversations — the assistant can offer to save a visitor's contact details without you configuring anything extra for it.
